If you are a law school student, you may seek an intern permit to perform legal duties. You musts be supervised by a licensed, active Kansas attorney in good standing, who has never been disciplined.

Educational Requirements

Check with your law school for school specific prerequisites. At a minimum, you MUST:

  • be enrolled at a law school approved by the America Bar Association;
  • have passed or be currently entrole3ed in the professional responsibility course required by your law school; and
  • have successfully completed at least 59 hours of legal studies or at least 44 hours of legal studies if your supervising attorney regularly teaches in your law school's legal clinic.

Application Fee

Under Rule 715, the fee for a legal intern permit is $50.
